Students' Charter

Every stakeholder of higher education has a role to play for quality enhancement and sustenance. The stakeholders such as the Government, management, teachers, students and the external quality assurance agencies—have an important role in ensuring quality of higher education. The National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC) strives to play a catalytic role in synergising the stakeholders efforts. Of all the stakeholders mentioned above, the students have a unique role to play in ensuring quality of higher education institutions (HEIs). Firstly, the students should realize that they have the right for quality education and it is the responsibility of the HEIs to provide quality educational experience to learners. Secondly, the students should equally be aware of their responsibilities which in turn will help the institutions to provide quality education.

This means that the students should demand quality education and demonstrate their commitment to quality education by accepting their responsibilities. Otherwise the HEIs will have very little motivation for quality enhancement.

Institution's Responsibilities towards its Students

    1. Communicate the goals and objectives of the institution systematically and clearly to all students.

    2. Offer programmes that are consistent with institutional goals and Objectives.

    3. Offer a wide range of programmes with adequate academic flexibility.

    4. Use feedback from students in the inititation, review and redesign of programmes.

    5. Facilitate effective running of the teaching-learning programmes.

    6. Implement a well-conceived plan for monitoring student progress continuously.

    7. Ensure that the student assessment procedures and systems are reliable and valid.

    8. Provide clear information to students about the admission and completion requirements for all programmes, the fee structure and refund policies,financial aid and student support services.

    9. Ensure sufficient and well-run support services to all students.

    10. Promote values, social responsibilities and good citizenry in all students.

Students' Responsibilites of Learning

    1. Appreciate the institutional goals and objectives and contribute of their realisation by participating in relevant institutional activities.

    2. Have a clear knowledge of the programmes, admission policies, rules and regulations of the institution.

    3. Understand the teaching-learning strategies and evaluation systems of the institution.

    4. Follow the time schedules, rules and regulations of the institution.

    5. Undertake regular and intense study of learning materials.

    6. Make optimum use of the learning resources and other support services available in the institution.

    7. Prepare for continuous internal assignments and term-end examinations.

    8. Give feedback for system improvement.

    9. Have faith and ability to pursure liefelong learning.

    10. Live as worthy alumni of the institution.

विद्यार्थ्यांची सनद

उच्च शिक्षणातील अनेक घटकांपैकी विद्यार्थी हा घटक केंद्रस्थानी आहे. गुणवत्ता विकासामध्ये विद्यार्थी महत्त्वाची भूमिका बजावतात. सर्वप्रथम विद्यार्थाला हे समजले पाहिजे की उत्तम शिक्षण मिळणे हा त्याचा अधिकार आहे आणि ते देण्याची जबाबदारी उच्च शिक्षण संस्थांची (महाविद्यालयाची) आहे. त्याचबरोबर विद्यार्थ्याला त्याच्या स्वतःच्या जबाबदारीची जाणीव असली पाहिजे. तसे असेल तरच उत्तम शिक्षण देण्याचे कार्य पार पाडणे महाविद्यालयास सुलभ होईल.

(अ) महाविद्यालयाची जबाबदारी

  1. महाविद्यालयाची ध्येये व उद्दिष्ट्ये यांची विद्यार्थ्यांना माहिती देणे.

  2. ध्येये व उद्दिष्टांशी सुसंगत असे अनेक विविध उपक्रम राबविणे.

  3. विद्यार्थ्यांच्या गरजेनुसार शैक्षणिक उपक्रमांची योजना करणे.

  4. अध्ययन-अध्यापन प्रक्रिया प्रभावीपणे राबविणे.

  5. विद्यार्थ्यांच्या प्रगतीचे सातत्याने मूल्यमापन करणे.

  6. विद्यार्थ्यांच्या मूल्यमापनाची पद्धत विश्वसनीय व यथार्थ असेल याची काळजी घेणे.

  7. प्रवेश प्रक्रिया, पात्रता, शुल्करचना, शुल्क सवलती, शिष्यवृत्ती, आर्थिक सहाय्य तसेच इतर सेवा सुविधा इ. बाबत माहिती देणे.

  8. विद्यार्थ्यांना पुरेशा व चांगल्या प्रतीच्या सेवा सुविधा पुरविणे.

  9. उद्याचे जबाबदार नागरीक घडविण्यासाठी योग्य ती मुल्ये व सामाजिक बांधिलकीची भावना विद्यार्थ्यांमध्ये रुजविणे.

(ब) विद्यार्थ्याची कर्तव्ये

  1. महाविद्यालयाची ध्येये व उद्दिष्ट्ये समजावून घेऊन ती साध्य करण्यासाठी राबविण्यात येणाऱ्या सर्व उपक्रमांमध्ये सहभागी होणे.

  2. महाविद्यालयाचे नियम, प्रवेश प्रक्रिया, उपक्रम इ. बाबत स्वतः माहिती घेणे, यासाठी माहितीपत्रक व नियमितपणे सुचना फलक वाचणे.

  3. महाविद्यालयातील अध्ययन-अध्यापन प्रक्रिया व परीक्षा पद्धत समजावून घेणे.

  4. महाविद्यालयाच्या सर्व नियमांचे पालन करणे, तसेच वेळोवेळी सुचना फलकातून फी सवलती, शिष्यवृत्ती, परीक्षा, स्पर्धा, प्रोजेक्ट, प्रॅक्टीकल्स इ. बाबत आवश्यक असणाऱ्या कागदपत्रांची दिलेल्या मुदतीतच पूर्तता करणे.

  5. नियमित अभ्यास करणे.

  6. महाविद्यालयाचे ग्रंथालय, क्रीडा साहित्य, संगीत साहित्य, संगणक इ. साधनांचा जास्तीत जास्त लाभ घेणे.

  7. महाविद्यालयात वेळोवेळी घेतल्या जाणाऱ्या चाचणी परीक्षांना तयारी करून बसणे.

  8. महाविद्यालयाच्या गुणवत्ता वाढीसाठी आपल्या प्रतिक्रिया, मते, सुचना इ. प्राध्यापक / प्राचार्य यांना भेटून किंवा सुचना पेटीच्या माध्यमातून देणे.

  9. शिक्षणावर श्रद्धा ठेऊन आयुष्यभर विद्यार्थी राहण्याचा प्रयत्न करणे.

  10. महाविद्यालयातून उत्तीर्ण झाल्यावर जबाबदार नागरिकाची भूमिका पार पाडून महाविद्यालयाचे नाव उज्ज्वल करणे.
